The first spray isn't the whole story.
What you smell when you first spray a fragrance isn't necessarily what you'll smell an hour, two or several hours later. Some notes appear quickly and fade, while others remain and become more noticeable over time.
Skin Makes a Difference
Skin temperature and condition can affect how a fragrance develops and how long it lasts. That's why the same fragrance can behave slightly differently from one person to another.
It's also why testing a fragrance on paper doesn't always give you the same experience as wearing it on skin.
Fabric Is Different
On fabric, fragrance isn't exposed to skin heat and oils in the same way. It may last longer and develop differently.
That's why at AVRA, we treat On Skin and On Fabric as separate experiences.
Even the Weather Matters
Heat, cooler temperatures, and your surroundings can all affect how a fragrance behaves and how you experience it.
The same fragrance on a hot day can feel different from how it does in cooler weather or an air-conditioned space.
Don't Judge It From the First Spray
Give the fragrance some time.
Smell it at the beginning, return to it an hour later, then again after several hours. Sometimes the best part of a fragrance doesn't appear immediately.
Because for us, fragrance isn't just the first spray. It's everything that happens after.
